About Let It Roll

Let It Roll began in 2002 as a club night for 500 people at Mlejn, a former club in Prague, at a time when the Czech drum and bass scene was still in its infancy. It soon outgrew that room and moved to bigger venues, including the club Abaton and the Harfa hall.

From club night to open air

The first real open-air edition came in 2008 in Staré Žďánice near Pardubice, with nearly 3,000 people; a year later there were 4,000. In 2013 the festival moved to Benešov near Prague and introduced its futuristic stage design and the Opening Show, which has opened every edition since. From 2015 it took over a former military airfield in Milovice, just outside Prague, and the organisers mark 2024 as the final Milovice edition. Growing alongside the Czech scene, Let It Roll went from a local phenomenon to what it calls the world's largest drum and bass gathering, drawing tens of thousands of ravers from around the world each year. It is known for its production, its opening ceremonies and an ongoing story of robotic companions travelling across the cosmos.

More than a festival

Let It Roll is also a promoter and a label. Let It Roll Recordings, based in Prague, has put out music such as Rido's Opening EP and backs local DJs. Beyond the summer festival there is an indoor winter edition in Prague and On Tour shows across Europe, including a sold-out night at Printworks in London. Musically it spans the whole of drum and bass, from liquid funk to neurofunk and jungle. It held the European Festivals Association's EFFE Label for 2019–2021. More at letitroll.eu.
